The motive features the Chamber of Secrets, known from the movies and novels by J. K. Rowling. The copyright as well as the weight and fineness are also included in the design. The reverse depicts Public Seal of Niue as well as the year of issue "2023" and the denomination "TWO DOLLARS".

The Chamber of Secrets is featured in the second and eponymous part of the Harry Potter™ saga "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets™" from 2002. The legendary chamber is located deep under the Great Lake and can only be entered via an entrance in the girls' bathroom on the second floor of the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The Chamber of Secrets was built by Salazar Slytherin, one of the four founders of the school, to keep his menacing legacy alive before he parted ways with the other school founders in a dispute. The most famous feature of the long hall is the oversized statue of Slytherin, which houses a deadly basilisk. Like the Dark Mark, the snake can crawl out through the statue's open mouth. For centuries, the chamber was considered a legend, as it could only be opened by wizards who spoke the snake language Parseltongue.
