The series "Harry Potter™ - Magical Creatures" from the New Zealand Mint is dedicated to the magnificent creatures from the magical world of Harry Potter™. The rectangular coin was struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver in proof quality and features a depiction of a cornish pixie. The pixie's appearance is similar to its appearance in 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets™'. The limbs are very slender, the head and pointed ears are very large in relation to the body and the delicate wings are an eye-catching metallic blue. In addition, three blue zirconia stones have been incorporated into the upper part of the coin. The reverse features the Niue coat of arms as well as the year of issue “2025” and the denomination "TWO DOLLARS".

The pixies, also known as “Cornish Pixies”, are known for their mischievous character and their penchant for pranks. They can fly, often hover in groups and are extremely difficult to control. Their pranks can range from harmless jokes to serious disturbances. The rectangular silver coin is delivered in the original box of the New Zealand Mint including a numbered certificate of authenticity.
