- Silver coin in rectangular shape
- Mintage only 2,000 pieces

The new Harry Potter™ series from the New Zealand Mint is dedicated to the Harry Potter characters and their Patronus. The rectangular coin was struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver in proof quality and features a depiction of Hermione Granger™ with her Patronus, an otter, as seen for the first time in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix". The reverse depicts the Portrait of King Charles III, as well as the year of issue "2024" and the denomination "TWO DOLLARS".
The Patronus spell is an advanced magical defense technique that uses positive memories and emotions to create a protective energy form. Patroni are often used against Dementors, dark creatures that absorb happiness and the joy of life. Hermione Granger's patronus, an otter, symbolizes intelligence, talent, loyalty and courage. The otter stands for Hermione's highly developed intellect, but also shows how important her friends are to her. The patronus also reveals hidden parts of its summoner - in the case of Hermione, who is usually very serious, these parts are lightness, sociability, cheerfulness and carefreeness. The rectangular silver coin is delivered in the original box of the New Zealand Mint including a numbered certificate of authenticity.
