To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Marvel™ Avengers™, the New Zealand Mint has issued this silver coin in color dedicated to Captain Marvel™. Struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver, the motive of the uniquely shaped coin features a depiction of the former Air Force pilot and Secret Service agent in her red superhero suit. The reverse features the official coat of arms of Niue as well as the denomination "TWO DOLLARS", the year of issue "2023", the official copyright, weight and fineness.

Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel™ was an Air Force pilot and intelligence agent who pursued her dream of space exploration as a NASA employee. But her work forever changed her life when she was accidentally transformed into a human-Kree hybrid with extraordinary powers. In the 1970s, Captain Marvel™, like many other superheroes before her, joined the superhero group "The Avengers™".
