The officially licensed silver coin replicates one of the major offensives in the galactic civil war between the Empire and the Rebels from the STAR WARS™ universe - the Battle of Scarif. Struck by the New Zealand Mint from three ounces of 99.9% silver in proof quality, the motive of the coin is partially finished in color. Thereby adding a particular dramatic effect to the scene from the film "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story™". The motive depicts an AT-ACT Walker™ and an X-Wing Starfighter™ in battle against a tropical landscape. In the background, the Rebels engage in further combat with the Empire's forces. The inscription "3 oz 999 Fine Silver" and the copyright are also included in the coin design. The reverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the year of issue "2022" and the denomination "TEN DOLLARS".

In the spin-off film "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story", a small unit of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, known by the code name "Rouge One", attempts to steal the plans of the Empire's new superweapon. The Death Star plans were located in the Imperial Citadel on the planet Scarif. After the rebels successfully infiltrated it, they tried to hand over the vital data to the Alliance. The team around Cassian Jeron Andor and Jyn Erso managed to successfully transmit the Empire's plans to Leia Organa, Princess of Alderaan and key figure of the Rebel Alliance. Final attempts by the Rebellion to rescue the Rogue One unit from the planet failed, resulting in the deaths of all team members involved in the Battle of Scarif.
