The third and final release in the STAR WARS™ Vehicles Series was struck by the New Zealand Mint from one ounce of 99.9% silver and is dedicated to the legendary AT-ST Walker™. The motive features a detailed depiction of the Scout Walker AT-ST™ (All-Terrain Scout Transport) during the Battle of Hoth™ in "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back". In the background, two AT-AT Walkers™ of the Galactic Empire fighting the rebels are depicted. The weight and fineness as well as the copyright are also included in the design.

The AT-ST Walker™ is a two-legged transport and scout vehicle that was used by the ground forces of the Galactic Empire and the First Order. Along with the Imperial Star Destroyer, the Stormtroopers and the TIE-Fighter™, it is considered one of the most recognizable symbols of the Empire's military strength and might. The AT-ST™ was typically used as a flank guard for Stormtroopers™ during major ground operations. Due to its height of only 8.6 meters, the walker was also used in forested areas. The impressive arsenal of weapons was composed of a twin cannon at the front, as well as two modular systems at the sides. In addition, a blaster cannon, a concussion grenade launcher and a missile launcher were part of the equipment. Despite its speed and maneuverability, the offensive and defensive capabilities of an AT-ST Walker™ were significantly limited. The light armor could withstand small arms attacks, but certainly not laser cannons or missiles. Another weakness was the agility of the AT-ST™'s tall legs. Deep trenches or cable lines that were at level with the ankles or knees could cause the walker to trip or fall over. The AT-ST Walker™ played a pivotal role during the Battle of Hoth in 3 NSY as well as during the Battle of Endor in 4 NSY.
