The New Zealand Mint has dedicated the first issue of the new Tarot Card series to the card with the number zero in the Major Arcana - the Fool. The rectangular coin was struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver in proof quality and features a colorful depiction of the Fool. The number "0" and the inscription "THE FOOL" are also included in the design. The reverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the year of issue "2021" and the denomination "2 DOLLARS". The fool (or jester) indicates a new stage in life - a new beginning. At the same time, it symbolizes liveliness, lightness and a certain openness to life. This trump card also refers to the so-called "fool's freedom" - the courage to overcome social norms or self-imposed limits and enjoy life in the here and now.
