This uniquely shaped silver coin was struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver and features a retrofuturism rocket during its flight through space. Due to their retro-style color scheme, the rocket and space stand out from the rest of the coin's design, which shows a planet with rings in the background and another planet below the rocket. The inscriptions "RETROFUTURISM" and "1 TROY OUNCE 999.9 SILVER" are also included in the design. The reverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, the country of issue, and the denomination within an atomic symbol, which in turn is backed by computer circuit boards. Below the atomic symbol is the individual numbering of the coin. Retrofuturism is an artistic movement influenced by the futuristic visions of past eras. It refers to the notion of the future that prevailed in the past and is viewed retrospectively from the present moment. Thus, this edition creatively celebrates the future visions of the past.
