After the very succesful first edition "Elephant" in the new Big Five Series, the South African Mint now presents the second issue 'Lion'. This unique set contains twice the second edition, each coin minted of one ounce of silver in proof quality. The motive of both silver coins features an impressive lion head and South Africa’s coat of arms. Both obverse show the denomination 'FIVE RAND', the weight '1oz', the fineness 'Ag 999' and two half lion heads. Two of these coins placed next to each other merge the picture into one complete lion's head. If you place several of these coins next to each other, you can see a whole pack of lions. The Big Five Lion coin set of 2 ounces of silver is presented in a double coin capsule and a noble wooden box. The wooden tray with the two coins can be removed and turned around, so that it is possible to present both sides of the coin.
