This exclusive coin set from the South African Mint includes all five issues - elephant - lion - rhino - leopard - buffalo - of the popular Big Five Series I. The series is dedicated to South Africa's impressive wildlife. The animals known as the "Big Five" are emblems and ambassadors of this culturally rich country. The significance of this unique coin series is correspondingly great. The five coins included in the set were each struck from one ounce of 99.9% silver in proof quality and show the portraits of those animals known worldwide as the "Big Five": An elephant, a lion, a rhino, a leopard and a buffalo. The inscription "South Africa" and the South African coat of arms are also part of the design. The reverse features two halves of each animal, creating a full close-up portrait when two coins are placed side by side. If several coins with the same motive are placed next to each other, a whole pack is visible. The complete set to the Big Five I. Series is limited to only 300 sets worldwide. The set is delivered in the noble original wooden box including a numbered certificate of authenticity of the South African Mint.
