This strictly limited set includes the second issue of the Big Five II Series - Lion from the South African Mint and a rare special edition of the 2022 Krugerrand with a Privy Mark "Lion". South Africa is justifiably proud of its extraordinary wildlife. The animals known as "Big Five" - Elephant - Lion - Buffalo - Rhino - Leopard - are landmarks and ambassadors of this culturally rich country and represent the African fauna. The Big Five silver coin features the impressive portrait of a lion. The inscriptions "SOUTH AFRICA", "BIG FIVE 2022" and the South African coat of arms are also part of the design. The reverse depicts two halves of a lion's head. When two of the coins are placed next to each other, a complete close-up portrait of a lion is visible. By placing many of these coins next to each other, a whole pack of lions appears. In the center, the denomination "FIVE RAND", the weight "1OZ" and the fineness "Ag 999" are shown.

The African lion (Panthera leo) is the largest and most important land predator in Africa. Due to his enormous strength and graceful appearance, the lion is generally considered the "king of animals" - a term that originates from old fairy tales and fables. Since then, the feline predator has been a symbol of power and dominance and has adorned countless coats of arms and flags up to this very day. The impressive roar of the lion can be heard up to 8 kilometers away and is used for communication within the pack members. In the wild, the lion can live up to 20 years - but to this day, the threat from poachers remains great.

The second coin in this set features the classic Krugerrand design and has a special feature a Privy Mark with a lion. Like all Krugerrand coins the reverse shows the portrait of South Africas first President Paul Kruger.
