The Krugerrand is not only considered an absolute classic among bullion coins, but also a timeless symbol of South Africa's distinctive heritage. The famous gold bullion coin from South Africa was first issued in 1967. The 50th anniversary in 2017 was then followed by the issue of a silver version of the Krugerrand for the first time. The 2018 issue shows - like all Krugerrand coins - the classic springbok design. The obverse of the coin depicts, as in every year, the profile of Paul Kruger, the President of South Africa from 1882-1902. The limited silver Krugerrand in proof quality is delivered in the original box of the South African Mint including a certificate of authenticity.
