Above the portrait is the crown, and below are the inscriptions "PLATINUM JUBILEE" - "QUEEN ELIZABETH II". The reverse shows the Ian Rank Broadley portrait of Her Majesty as well as the denomination, year of issue, weight and fineness.
70 years ago - on February 6, 1952 - Elizabeth II ascended the throne for the first time at the age of 25 and was crowned queen at Westminster Abbey on June 2, 1953. The ceremony, with the exception of the anointing and communion, was televised for the first time. Since then, Elizabeth II has been the constitutional monarch of 16 sovereign states known as "Commonwealth Realms," including their territories and dependent territories. She is also head of the 53-state Commonwealth of Nations and secular head of the Anglican Church of England. Queen Elizabeth II is the longest reigning monarch to date and the first to celebrate such an anniversary. Limited to 1,952 pieces worldwide, the silver proof coin for the Platinum jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II is delivered in the original box including a numbered certificate of authenticity.
