The silver coin is dedicated to the 50th Anniversary of the James Bond movie - The Man with the Golden Gun™. James Bond™ is a fictional British Secret Service Agent - also known as 007™. He first appeared on the screen in 1962 with the film "Dr. No™". More than 50 years later, the adventures of James Bond™ still entertain the audiences around the world. The coin was struck by the Perth Mint from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver. The motive in color portrays an image of James Bond and Francisco Scaramanga, standing back to back, at the start of their legendary pistol duel. Images of the sea and the island can be seen in the background, as well as the spiral shapes from the famous 007 logo. Above the colored inscription "THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN FIFTY YEARS" is the Bond family crest with the motto "ORBIS NON SUFFICIT" (the world is not enough) and the number 50. The reverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the years of her reign, as well as the denomination, the fineness and the year of issue.
The Man with the Golden Gun™ is the ninth James Bond film adaptation released in 1974. Like its predecessors, The Man with the Golden Gun™ is based on the novel by author Ian Fleming. In the movie, MI6 receives a golden bullet engraved with "007." The secret service suspects Francisco Scaramanga as the sender, who apparently challenges Bond to a duel. Bond follows the trail of the golden bullet and arrives in Hong Kong, where Scaramanga shoots the scientist Gibson, the inventor and owner of the Solex generator, and steals the generator. Bond is given the mission to recapture the generator. He is assisted by Andrea Anders and his ally Mary Goodnight. The limited James Bond™ silver proof coin is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity from the Perth Mint.
