The silver coin is dedicated to the Aston Martin DB5, which first appeared in 1964 together with James Bond™ actor Sean Connery in "Goldfinger". The car is one of the most famous vehicles in film history and celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2024. Other Bond films in which the Aston Martin DB5 appeared were "Fireball", "GoldenEye", "Tomorrow Never Dies", "Casino Royale", "Skyfall", "Spectre" and "No Time to Die". The equipment of the vehicle with a maximum speed of 238 km/h includes numerous gadgets that have often helped the MI6 agent to successfully incapacitate his opponents. These include a rotating license plate, machine guns behind the headlights, an ejector seat, a bulletproof shield, tire slashers and a tracking device.

The coin was struck by the Perth Mint from one ounce of 99.99% silver in proof quality and shows a depiction of Sean Connery as James Bond, leaning casually against the car with one hand resting on the hood. The inscription "JAMES BOND", the iconic Bond 007 weapon logo and a stylized gun barrel are also part of the design. The reverse features a portrait of King Charles III as well as the weight, denomination, fineness and year of issue. The limited James Bond™ silver proof coin in color is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity from the Perth Mint.
