The gilded silver coin is dedicated to the world-famous sponge from the children's series “Spongebob Squarepants”. The coin was struck by the Perth Mint from two ounces of 99.99% silver in proof quality. The obverse of the coin features SpongeBob SquarePants in a circular pattern. A 24-karat gold plating adorns the character's head, arms, tie and pants, as well as the edges and serrated rim of the coin. The design also includes the official “SpongeBob SquarePants” logo and flower-shaped cloud motifs. The reverse features the Jody Clark effigy of King Charles III as well as the weight, fineness, denominational value and year of issue.
