The Peregrine Falcon is the fourth of totally six issues in the successful Native Birds series. The 20 Euro gold coin in uncirculated quality features an image of a peregrine falcon sitting on a ledge. The motive was designed by the Berlin artist Bodo Broschat. The reverse of all six issues in this series is designed equally and was drafted by the German artist Adelheid Fuss. It depicts the federal eagle surrounded by twelve stars and the inscriptions "BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND", "2019", "20 EURO" and the mintmark of the appropriate mint. The peregrine falcon is one of the most widespread bird species in the world. These birds of prey are the largest hawks living in Germany and can be observed almost all over the year. Further editions in the Native Birds Series are: Nightingale (2016), Oriole (2017), Eagle Owl (2018), White Stork (2020) and Black Woodpecker (2021). The coins are minted in equal parts by the five German mints of Berlin, Munich, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe and Hamburg. The set contains one coin of each mintmark - "A", "D", "F", "G" and "J" - for the mints of Berlin, Munich, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe and Hamburg.
