As the last issue the Mallard completes the six-part Wildlife coin series from Austria. The topic of the gold coin series are the indigenous wild animals of Austria and each of the motives shows another animal in its natural environment. The mallard is the largest and most common swimming duck in Europe. The mallard is able to thrive in urban areas. The duck is a common sight in parks lakes, rivers and canals throughout Western Europe. Her thick plumage protects her from wet and cold. The motive of this gold coin shows a mallard family. Right on the shore stands the drake, while the duck mother is swimming in the water with two chicks. Two more mallards fly over them. The value side shows a drake in the water. The design includes an ornament, a water lily and the inscriptions 'REPUBLIC OF AUSTRIA 2018', '100 Euro'. Animal lovers and coin collectors will enjoy this gold coin.
