An intricate sculpture of a majestic elk (or wapiti) emerges from the flat surface of this coin to give it a multi-dimensional look and feel. The stately beauty of a elk (or wapiti) shines bright in the form of a gold-plated, silver-cast statuette that rises up from the coin's surface. The male elk's towering rack of antlers is particularly imposing as the animal lifts its head towards the sky to release its bugling cry, which can easily shatter the early morning silence of an autumn day. The reverse was designed by Canadian big game sculptor Karl Lansing, your coin represents a sculptural celebration of a Canadian icon. The coin's large 65 mm diameter provides the perfect pedestal for the gold-plated silver elk-shaped embellishment emerging from the coin! Despite its unusual shape, the coin is safely protected inside a dome-like capsule that protects it from the elements. It is encapsulated and housed in a wooden display case with a black beauty box. Elk is the third coin in the series „Sculpture‘s of Majestic Canadian Animals“, which depicts animals in a uniquely multi-dimensional approach.
