The gold coin is dedicated to the Platinum jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Struck from 0.5 gram of 99.99% pure gold in proof quality, the motive features a detailed portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on her throne. She wears a crown and a cape and holds a scepter and an orb in her hands. Surrounding the portrait is the inscription "HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II - PLATINUM JUBILEE - 2022." The reverse shows the coat of arms of the Democratic Republic of the Congo as well as the weight, fineness and denomination of the coin. 70 years ago - on February 6, 1952 - Elizabeth II ascended the throne for the first time at the age of 25 and was crowned queen at Westminster Abbey on June 2, 1953. The ceremony, with the exception of the anointing and communion, was televised for the first time. Since then, Elizabeth II has been the constitutional monarch of 16 sovereign states known as "Commonwealth Realms," including their territories and dependent territories. She is also head of the 53-state Commonwealth of Nations and secular head of the Anglican Church of England. Queen Elizabeth II is the longest reigning monarch to date and the first to celebrate such an anniversary. The gold coin for the Platinum jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II is limited to 5,000 pieces worldwide and will be delivered in a protective coin capsule.
