The euro coin from Malta was struck from 28,28 gram of silver in proof quality and is dedicated to the platinum jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. The motive shows the Jubilee emblem on a purple background, which is surrounded by the inscription "The Queen's Platinum Jubilee" and the denomination. The reverse shows the logo of the Central Bank of Malta, the mint mark and the year of issue. 70 years ago - on February 6, 1952 - Elizabeth II ascended the throne for the first time at the age of 25 and was crowned Queen on June 2, 1953 in Westminster Abbey. The ceremony, with the exception of the anointing and communion, was televised for the first time. Since then, Elizabeth II has been the constitutional monarch of 16 sovereign states known as "Commonwealth Realms," including their territories and dependent territories. She is also head of the 53-state Commonwealth of Nations and secular head of the Anglican Church of England. Queen Elizabeth II is the longest reigning monarch to date and the first to celebrate such an anniversary. The limited 10 euro silver proof coin for the platinum jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II is delivered in the original box including a certificate of authenticity.
