The Fellowship of the Ring" is the first part of the successful film series and celebrated its world premiere in December 2001. The Premium Gold bullion coin was struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure gold and celebrates the 20th anniversary of The Lord of the Rings™. The motive features an officially licensed representation of The One Ring, with the engraving depicting the two famous lines of the Ring Poem in Black Speech. Translated, the inscription means "One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them". The same lettering is depicted along the edge of the coin. The copyright as well as the weight and fineness are also included in the design. The reverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and the year of issue.
The One Ring, which is also known as the "Ring of Power," was one of the most powerful artifacts ever created in Middle Earth - and by far the most dangerous. It was forged by Sauron in the fires of Mount Doom during the Second Age - with the intention of strengthening his own power and exerting control over the other Rings of Power crafted by Celebrimbor and his people. In this way, Sauron sought to gain dominion over the Elves and all the other peoples of Middle Earth. The One Ring premium gold bullion coin is strictly limited to only 200 pieces worldwide and is delivered in a protective coin capsule.
