This impressive bullion coin from the Lunar Series I. of the Australian Perth Mint is dedicated to the 'Year of the Dragon'. The dragon is the fifth animal in the Chinese zodiac calendar. Characteristics such as courage, strength, intelligence and self-confidence are attributed to him. The motive of the coin shows a dragon which is traditionally represented together with a flaming pearl. In addition, the Chinese character for "Dragon", the inscription "1 KILO 9999 GOLD" and the year of issue are also depicted. The reverse features the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The coin was struck from one kilo of 99.99% pure gold in uncirculated quality. The rare 1 kilo gold bullion coin is delivered in the original protective capsule of the Perth Mint.
