The Australian "Kookaburra" coin is one of the most popular silver bullion coins worldwide. Already since 1990, the kookaburra is strucked in different weight units and with annually changing motives. The motive in 2019 portrays a kookaburra perched on a tree branch protruding from a gently rippling waterway. The sun set on the horizon and the natural environment around the water form a stylized backround. The inscription "AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA", the traditional mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint and "2019 1oz 9999 SILVER" are also included in the design. The front of each coin bears the new official Jody Clark portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II., which will be coined from 2019 on Australian coins and is now the sixth portrait of the Queen. The Kookaburra is the largest kingfisher in the world and the national bird of Australia. He is called in German also laughing Hans. He owes this name to his loud reputation, which is comparable to human laughter, and which he especially lets sound early in the morning and late in the evening. In Australia he is particularly popular because he kills mice and also venomous snakes, which he knows how to capture. The Perth Mint issues only 500,000 pieces of this 2019 Kookaburra 1 Oz. silver coin. The coin will be delivered in a capsule.
