The new release in the Australian Lunar Series III of the Perth Mint is dedicated to the Year of the Ox. Following the mouse, the Ox is the second animal in the Chinese Zodiac calendar. The second issue of the 12-year Lunar III series features a colored image of an ox and its calf standing on a riverbank. Also included in the design are the inscription "OX 2021" and the traditional mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint. A special feature of this edition is a Privy Mark of 1 gram of pure gold, which represents the Chinese character for "ox". The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the denomination, the weight and the fineness. Oxen possess an enormous work force and are the oldest documented draft animals, which are used in agriculture and other fields. Those born under the sign of the Chinese ox are considered friendly, intelligent, honest and reliable. They are characterized by a high work ethic, logical thinking and composure. The limited 1 Kilo Silver coin with Gold Privy Mark is delivered in the original box of the Perth Mint including a numbered certificate of authenticity.
