The second coin from the Wildlife of Nicaragua series depicts a Three-Toed Sloth hanging on a branch in color. Three-Toed Sloths have three claws on each limb and live in the trees of Central and South America. Two-toed sloths also have three toes on the hind feet, the real difference is found in the number of fingers. The partially unexplored rain forest inhabitants are particularly threatened today by fire clearings. The coin was struck 2018 by the Central Bank of Nicaragua in 99,9% silver and shows in great deatil the sloth in its natural forest habitat. The silver coin is encased in a modern wooden box featuring Nicaragua’s coat of arms. The original packaging complements the Nicaraguan wildlife theme. The enclosed certificate is written in both English and Spanish.
