The final release in the Looney Tunes coin series features the Tasmanian Devil, commonly referred to as Taz. Taz first appearance was in 1954 together with Bugs Bunny in the cartoon "Devil May Hare". His personality is purportedly based on the real life Australian marsupial, particularly its insatiable appetite and disagreeable temperament. Taz is ferocious, impatient, devious and prone to terrible tantrums. Chewing through almost anything, spinning like a tornado, and emitting rough grunts, growls and screeches, he is like no other contemporary Warner Bros. cartoon character in his extremes of craziness! Struck by The Perth Mint from 1/2oz of 99.99% pure silver, the silver coin features the Tasmanian Devil in color appearing to burst out of the concentric rings of the Looney Tunes logo. The Looney Tunes silver coin is presented in a clear acrylic case, allowing both sides of the coin to be displayed, and is packaged within a themed shipper.
