The new issue of the Australian Lunar Series III of the Perth Mint is dedicated to the Year of the Ox. The Ox is the second animal in the Chinese Zodiac calendar. The second issue of the 12-year Lunar III series features an image of an ox and its calf standing on a riverbank in a rural surrounding. Oxen possess an enormous work force and are the oldest documented draft animals, which are used in agriculture and other fields. Also included in the design are the Chinese character for "Ox", the inscription "OX 2021" and the traditional mintmark "P" of the Perth Mint. Those born in 2021, 2009, 1997, 1985, 1973 and every 12th year before under the Chinese ox character are considered friendly, intelligent, honest and reliable. They are characterized by a high work ethic, logical thinking and composure, which makes them good leaders. The reverse of the coin shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, the denomination and the fineness. The silver bullion coin is delivered in a capsule.
