This impressive bullion coin from the Lunar Series II. of the Australian Perth Mint is dedicated to the 'Year of the Dragon'. The dragon is the fifth animal in the Chinese lunar calendar. Characteristics like courage, strength, intelligence and self-confidence are attributed to him. The motive of the coin shows a winding dragon with a wide open mouth, traditionally represented together with a flaming pearl. In addition, the Chinese character for "Dragon", the inscription "Year of the Dragon" and the mint mark "P" of the Perth Mint are shown. The reverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II" and "AUSTRALIA". The coin was struck from one kilo of 99.99% pure gold. The rare 1 Kilo gold bullion coin is delivered in the original protective capsule of the Perth Mint.
